The Lazy Investor by Derek Foster. Great book. Short, uncomplicated and to the point. The author has a gift to take the complicated and simplify it. I also enjoyed his investing strategy. Buy a few dividend stocks, keep re-investing the dividends and built wealth the slow but efficient way.

Which discount broker do you use? I have been a member of Disnat for the past couple years. It’s alright. Nothing special. But after reading this recent post, I’m thinking of switching. Does anybody have any experience with Qtrade Investor? They keep reaching the # 1 spot on the Globe and Mail ranking. But none of my colleagues or friends use them.
What about you? Ever used Qtrade? Any comments?

One of my goals for this blog is to keep track of my accomplishments, or lack thereof. And one of them, is become debt-free in 12 months. I currently have 3 credit cards. Visa, Mastercard and American Express. My goal is to elimate 2 of the 3. Visa and Mastercard will be surely elimanated. Why keep Amex, well, I do enjoy shopping at Costo often. We all know that they don’t accept anything but Amex. Also, Amex is not widely accepted everywhere. Which is a good thing. This way, I’m hoping that it will force me to use cash. And therefore, reducing my debt.
What credit cards do you use?

I did it. I finally did it. I logged into my ING Direct account and opened a Tax-Free Savings Account. I already had a little bit of cash saved up, so all I had to do was transfer the funds. Click OK a few times and bingo! My TFSA is open. I really like this initiative from the government. It supposed to entice people to save cash for a rainy day.
Have you opened TFSA account yet?
